Official game rules
Miners on Tour is simple: take a photo with something RedStone out in the world, post it on X, and submit it. A moderator checks every entry against these rules before it lands on the map.
No RedStone merch on you? No problem, you can use: a goodie, a sticker, a drawing, a DIY creation, or even a RedStone image displayed on your phone screen — everything counts. The photo just needs a clear RedStone-branded element in it.
Required object
The official project goodie must be clearly visible and identifiable in every qualifying photo. If no goodie, a drawing, a DIY project, or a creative interpretation of the logo or character.
Original content
The participant must have taken the photo or have permission to submit it. AI-generated, stock, copied, or previously submitted images are not eligible.
Location integrity
The map pin must reasonably match the location shown. Moderators may request a second image, timestamp, or contextual proof for high-value or disputed submissions.
Submission limit
A maximum of 3 approved photos per participant per calendar week are allowed. This keeps the competition accessible and limits low-effort spam while still rewarding consistent participation.Enforced automatically at submission — the week is counted from your X post date (Monday–Sunday), and pending photos count toward it too.
Safety and legality
No trespassing, dangerous behavior, restricted areas, illegal activity, personal data exposure, or content that could harm the project’s reputation.
Approval checklist
Before assigning points, the evaluator checks:
- Goodie visible
- Original photo
- Safe
- Not a duplicate
If any box is unchecked, the submission is rejected and receives 0 points.
Leaderboard & ranking system
The leaderboard is based on total points from approved submissions. The system is intentionally simple: each approved photo earns a base score plus the bonuses below — up to 22 points per submission. Scoring runs from July 21, 2026: photos posted on X before that date still appear on the map but earn no points.
| Scoring item | Definition | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Approved submission | All eligibility conditions are met. | 10 |
| Originality | The submission presents a subject, viewpoint, setting, or composition that shows a clear effort in visual composition and is meaningfully different from previously approved submissions. Not awarded when the photo is a duplicate, near-duplicate, or a minor variation of an existing submission. | +3 |
| New region auto | A “region” is a state, province, or administrative area within a country (ISO 3166-2 subdivision) — e.g. California, Bavaria, or Mazovia. The bonus goes to the first community miner to get a photo approved from that region, detected automatically from the map pin. Team photos don’t claim the region in the community race. | +2 |
| New country auto | The bonus goes to the first community miner to put a country on the map — the pioneer. Detected automatically from the map pin. Team photos don’t claim the country in the community race. | +5 |
| Great description | The description receives the bonus when it meets at least two of: Informative — relevant details about the subject, location, or context; Engaging — written in an interesting, memorable, or humorous way; Specific — details that are not immediately visible in the photo. | +2 |
| Maximum per submission | 22 |
RedStone team members show up on the map and leaderboard, but they stay out of the community competition — their photos never claim a New country or New region there, so the discovery always goes to the first community miner. Team members earn those bonuses only within their own Team ranking.
